This book was sent to me by Litfuse in exchange for an honest review
I’ve been sitting in doctor’s offices and ERs reading this book, beside the bed of my best friend. We are at a loss as to what is wrong other then a great amount of pain. It’s the reason my blog has been somewhat silent this week as I sit in silence and wait for answers. The slowness of a diagnoses begins to get to me and then I stumble on the words of Ruchti’s own story of waiting years for a diagnosis and the peace that only God can give.
Ruchti gives testimony to the beauty of reclaimed treasures. Our souls and bodies take time to mend and can only do so in the hands of our Creator. Using illustrations of vintage dolls, moth eaten sweaters, frayed tapestries, and broken furniture Ruchti finds and highlights the beauty restoration in our lives. Our souls and bodies take time to mend and can only do so in the hands of our Creator. If you have ever felt tattered around the edges, worn, or broken this book is a must read. It leaves you “hemmed in hope” and ready to mend. I love Cynthia Ruchti’s work and have been featuring this entire month. To read more visit: As Waters Gone By Book Review, Learning to Mend and Resting in God, and an Interview with Cynthia Ruchti.
Next week I will be sharing a craft project the kids and I are taking on inspired by Tattered and Mended. If you want to read along with us you can grab a copy of the book now on Amazon in kindle or paperback. There are also two different giveaways mentioned below so keep on scrolling and good luck! I especially like the “broken china” charm bracelet.
How can the wounds that keep us from living the life we want to live be mended and healed? In Tattered and Mended, Cynthia Ruchti walks readers through a gallery of reclaimed and restored art as well as broken and restored lives of those who have gone before us. With a gentle touch and personable wisdom, Cynthia shows how even the most threadbare soul can once again find healing and hope.

I enjoyed meeting Cynthia a few months ago at a conference. She is so lovely and insightful.
I think majority of people in the world are broken and need mending only God can do. This sounds like a helpful book.
