I’ve been struggling with the need to grow up this week. Things have been crazy amazing and difficult all at once. Our cat passed away Sunday. The kids have been busy planning a funeral to take place later today filled with smores and bubbles and planting flowers on his grave. It’s the first time I’ve lost a pet since I was ten. I was surprised by the loss, not just his passing which was sudden, but also the numbness it left.
The week has been full of exciting news I hope to share with you soon, struggles with faith and grace, coffee with friends, study, prayers, and grief. As a family we enjoyed a little retail therapy and went shopping for swim suits in the hopes of pools opening soon to combat our sudden heat wave.
I love the coolness of the mornings in El Paso, the heat of the summer that drives us to swimming pools, matinees and sweet tea. It’s on the horizon.

Thank you so much for the link up! My resolution this year was to have more family time so we created a Family Fun Bucket list! It has been fun so far planning everything to do. =)
I love the bucket list. Such a great idea. I’m gonna sit down with the kids and do one. We have been spending far to little time together because we have not been intentional about fun.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your pet. Pets are family members too and it’s just like losing a loved one when they’re gone. The services your family has planned sound very sweet - I hope they help. I did something similar with my pets when I was younger.
Thank you
Sorry about your cat! I know how hard it is to lose a pet!

Thanks. I hope you join us every Wednesday.
I’m sorry about your cat. but it’s sweet that the kids are putting in so much effort to plan something. I don’t even know what it will be like when I lose my pet, she’s such a big part of my life
Thanks. It’s harder then I thought it would be.
So sorry to hear about your cat. 🙁 However, it’s wonderful how your boys are coming together to plan what should be a special funeral.
Thank you
