Home School Co-op

Favorite Home Schooler Resources Series

If you are a homeschooler and live in El Paso, TX then this post is for you. This fall we are starting up a new co-op at First Presbyterian Church. I love co-ops. They are a great way to supplement our curriculum, find classes on subjects where I struggle but the kids need, socialize our weird homeschoolers (hehe), go on field trips, and make a few friends myself.

  1. Our family is looking at the possibility of relocating to El Paso from Tyler, Texas. We have homeschooled for 8 years, and just this year delved into the addition of a co-op to our education. I wondered if there are any other co-ops you can tell me about in El Paso? The co-op we are currently a part of is parent taught and provides for Kindergarten through 12th grade. We meet from 9am-3pm three Mondays a month. I love this parent taught method and am looking for something similar in El Paso. Some of the options I am looking for as far as classes include a progressive program for science, history, Texas history, government, and also include math, art, foreign language, computer and possibly some music and drama options. I would love any information you can give on other co-ops that are parent taught and provide some of the class options I’ve listed above. Thanks so much for your help!

    • The best way to stay connected to all that is going on in the El Paso homeschool community is to join the FB group El Paso Liberty Home Schoolers (https://www.facebook.com/groups/132206980133240/)
I know there is a Fort Bliss Military Home Schoolers Co-op and I believe there is another one on the West Side of town but I do not know a whole lot about it other then I’ve heard lots of people like it :-) My favorite of course is the one that meets at First Prebyterian Church El Paso (fpcep.org)
