Calling all homeschoolers!
Writing is such a powerful tool that spills over into critical thinking, public speaking, attention to detail and much more. While 80% of all high school graduates are now writing at below proficiency levels, your child does not need to be part of these statistics!
Hi everyone! My name is Michelle Fryc and I am a certified instructor with IEW. For the last 12 years I have taught the IEW classes. I am inviting your children to become brighter writer’s and invest in their future by signing up for the writing classes in my home this school year.
Hope Griffin will also be an instructor for the classes. Hope has a B.A. in English and a M.A.B.S. from Dallas Theological Seminary. She is also a homeschool mom of three.
Next week I am starting the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) classes in my home. The classes are in six week increments. Each class is one hour per week plus homework. The classes will start on November 5, 12,19, 26 and December 3 and 10. The classes will resume in January.
There are three levels offered.
Level 1 - Grades 3-5 12:00-1:00
Level 2 - Grades 6-8 1:30 - 2:30
Level 3 Grades 9-12 3:00-4:00
We will be using the IEW U.S. History-Based Writing Lessons, Volume 1: Explorers to the Gold Rush, Student Book for Level 1 and Level 2 by Lori Verstegen. This can be ordered from the IEW website at www.iew.com.
The Level 3 class will be using the Advanced Communications class from IEW.
Classes are $15 class. Multiple family discounts are as follows: 1st -3rd child is $15, 4th child is 50% of cost, 5th child is 25% of cost, all others free.
I have a 3 mile walking track in front of the house and a play ground in the front and back of the home. Tea, water and coffee are available in my kitchen. While I will provide some hospitality for mothers who have multiple children or who are staying during the lesson, the house is mainly for lessons.
