Joy in the Evening

At night my mind begins to race. The undone to-dos that have seeped into tomorrow keep me awake, the maybes of life need solutions, the struggles of friends need a helping hand, and the unwritten stories in my mind beg me to get up and write them down. But I need sleep.

I let the words of scripture wash over me as I quiet my mind. I give my fears of the unknown to the Lord in prayer, I seek His favor for my friends and I ask for His strength to help where I can.

I rest knowing no matter what tomorrow brings He is stronger.

Proverbs 3:24 You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly.

Psalms 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.
