Joy is such a funny little thing. It’s a tiny word with so much anticipation and meaning packed in. Our stories slowly emerge and in the midst of them sometimes joy is hard to see. I had the opportunity this week to share with My Journey of Faith Magazine how God wrecked me. It’s a story of the life I set out to live for Him, but the journey He required of me.
I’ve always been honest in my writing. But there was something about this assignment from My Journey of Faith Magazine that brought out a new level of vulnerability. Maybe it was the exhaustion from a hard summer, maybe it is coming to terms with struggles I’ve denied. Whatever it was, after I hit send to the editor I suddenly had this sick feeling I was to honest, to vulnerable but felt comforted that it would definitely be rejected….it wasn’t.
So here I am, in the company of some amazing authors and their stories, in all my raw authenticity.

There are so many ways we can pursue joy in our lives, but it has to come from the heart. Being momentarily happy and possessing an internal authentic joy in the face of difficult circumstances are two very different things. I believe it is the little moments of happiness that help shape and prepare us for the difficult life circumstances we all face. My question is what do you do in your everyday that brings you happiness and fosters a deep found joy in your life?
