Find Joy in Everyday

If you came by last week looking for this linkup I have to say the week just got away from me. We are in the final stages of prep for Vacation Bible School, swimming in tie dye solution and science experiments as we plan for our Elements of Trust (a science themed, Christ centered VBS) this year. Is VBS brain a thing?

We wrapped up our Staycation Guests Blogs this monday and are getting ready for a big photography challenge for July. For one month we are switching up our weekly linkup to encourage one another in our photography skills. You will be able to link up your photos from instagram and/or your blog posts. I even have a few prompts to get your creativity started.

This week we had the opportunity to participate in Relay for Life. It is always fun as a family to do big events for good causes like this. We love giving back. We enjoy fundraisers for charities, especially those supporting cancer research. We celebrated the lives we’ve had the privilege of being a part of, no matter how short, as we walked the track and those who are still celebrating birthdays because of the work that organizations like American Cancer Society fund.

My week has been full of joyful moments. How have you been finding joy this week? Link up with us and let us know.

I am in the midst of creating a Homeschool Co-op (ok more like re-creating and re-locating after a year break). First Presbyterian has happily stepped up and provided us a space and resources. They went even a step further and we discussed homeschooling on the local christian tv station yesterday. You can watch it here:

My week has been full of joyful moments: Homeschooling fun, work, planning VBS and Writing Camps, while still steadily unpacking our cardboard treasure boxes.

This past week we’ve been moving from one house to another, just a mile down the road. I’ve learned a few things during this little adventure.

#1 Hiring movers and a cleaning crew is cheaper then family therapy.

#2 If you’re not going to splurge for those two at least rent a U-haul. Just because it’s a mile down the road does not mean pick-ups and four runners are going to do the job.

#3 My family is loved by a lot of patient people willing to share pickups and sore muscles.

#4 Balfour Beatty is an excellent housing community. The houses keep getting nicer and so do the people.

#5 Oscar from bulk pick up is my new best friend.

We received keys to our new house Monday and have being making the faithful trip back and forth with box after box. So that’s basically it. We’re preparing for a garage sale and cooking out for all our faithful helpers. That’s my week and I’m loving it and stressed all at the same time. How are you finding joy this week?
