There are so many ways we can pursue joy in our lives, but it has to come from the heart. Being momentarily happy and possessing an internal authentic joy in the face of difficult circumstances are two very different things. I believe it is the little moments of happiness that help shape and prepare us for the difficult life circumstances we all face. My question is what do you do in your everyday that brings you happiness and fosters a deep found joy in your life?

I can’t believe the summer is almost over. There wasn’t nearly enough pool days or picnics. Instead our summer was filled with ER visits and lots of family healing time. My husband and I joked that our new date spot was the doctor’s waiting room.The summer may have flown by but I’m anxiously awaiting the calmness of Fall.
We are in the midst of transitioning from homeschooling to public school. While there is a bit of anxiety mixed in, overall we are very excited for this new adventure. I’m working on a fun surprise, thanks to Family Christian, to bless my kids with on day one.
I am excited to get back to these weekly linkups and reading all about how you are finding joy in the everyday. Two new bloggers have joined me in co-hosting every Wednesday. This book has been a fun distraction from an otherwise hectic week. A Nancy Drew fan myself, I love the references and the subtle detective work. The characters are soft and fun to get to know, they each have a well developed back story that adds depth. The historical element of the book was very informative. I learned some new things about the Atlantic and our Navy during that time period. The romance is light, innocent, and somewhat predictable. Through Waters Deep does not disappoint as a historical romance. To top it off this is one of the cutest giveaways I’ve had on my blog. Love the tote! Same lesson. New story.
I’m a slow learner. A few weeks ago I preached on Hagar, The Other Wife and shared that there are some lessons I have to learn over and over. One of those lessons is trust. It’s simple really.
“Be still and know that I am God.”- Psalm 46:10
Hagar learned it at the well when she encountered the God who sees, I’ve learned it before as I wrestled with my doubt and my grief through our daughters cancer. And I was reminded of it again this weekend.
