It is time to vote for the 2015 Army Military Spouse of the Year! The top 3 of each branch have been announced and today is the day to cast your vote. I want to introduce you to one of my army sisters, Fort Gordon MSOY 2015 Corie Weathers.
Corie and her husband have been working hard to help military marriages not just survive but thrive. Corie, in addition to being an amazing Military Spouse, is a licensed counselor offering various services to the military community
She writes online encouraging marriages, providing resources, and finding new ways to minister to those who are separated by an ocean. In April her and her husband will be launching ENLIVEN, a free marriage curriculum, at www.enlivenmarriage.com
I especially enjoyed her piece A Woman’s Mind is like a Computer Screen. I, of course, immediately took note of the 4 projects open on my screen along with the 5 websites. She takes something as simple as a computer screen and turns it into a life lesson on strengthening our marriages.
What I love most about Corie Weathers is what she has already been doing - supporting military marriages. We need a voice that speaks up and says that military marriages can work, and work well. This has been a passion of mine for awhile and I am so excited to see someone with the same passion in the top 18.
Corie and Matt have always been passionate about “making marriage work.” Seeing the rates of divorce and the painful toll of destructive patterns in marriages around us, we have and continue to work hard to protect and strengthen the connection we have. Finding our sweet spot in encouraging couples during counseling and marriage retreats, we discovered that every marriage needs direction on how to thrive while what we call the “weapons of marital destruction” threaten intimacy. — Taken from www.insight.army
