Back 2 School Memories

On our first day of homeschool we did not do much in the way of work. The kids and I sat down and discussed what we wanted to do in school. Not surprisingly, three things were decided by all. Everyday we were to do an art project, a Bible lesson, and a science project. We then named our school The Griffin Academy of Art.

Ok. So some days we are doing good to get one of those three in the mix. I’m pretty happy if we read, finish our math lesson, and keep the house from falling apart. I know, high standards right.

Today is day 2 of the back to blogging SITS Girls challenge and the topic is back to school memories. I thought I’d share with you what our very first day of schooling resulted in.

We started homeschooling 4 years ago. This picture is from day number 1. After agreeing that art and crafts would be a big part of our school we pulled out the paints and marked the occasion. They’ve been hanging in our dining room ever since.

This year we didn’t really mark our back to school. We kind of eased into it starting with one subject and adding an additional one every few days. Summer just melted away this year. You can read more here about what we have planned and how you can help with a bully project this year.

Let us know in the comments below how you mark your first day of school each year?
