I received An Endless Christmas by Cynthia Ruchti free from Worthy Inspired, and Litfuse in exchange for my humble opinion.
“Haste is rarely a friend…” Words that are rich with meaning in a family surrounded by loss and love and a commitment to live every day as their last. A Christmas full of re-adjusting plans and surprises can not separate the Binder family from their pursuit of joy.
When I was given the opportunity to share with you another one of Cynthia Ruchti’s books I jumped at the chance. I only recently discovered her and covet her skills as a storyteller. (Previous reviews of her books include- As Waters Gone By and Tattered and Mended.)
A botched engagement upon meeting the parents turns into a snowed in cottage Christmas with more people than there is air to breathe. And yet the joy of the season, the love of home, and the generosity of “just met extended family of the man I just said no to marriage in front of everyone” outshines the awkwardness of the situation. This is Christmas at it’s finest.
Ruchti has a way of making characters come to life. Their back stories slowly reveal themselves to us adding depth and meaning to every word and moment. What appears to Katie, the main character, as the picture perfect Christmas that has always been is in fact built on the pain of loss and challenging commitments that come with marriage.
If you are looking for a fun, light read that surprises you with involuntary tears and joy then this is the book to kick off your holiday spirit!
