Today’s post is short and all about September.
- I love the start of the school year. The anticipation of what it will be like. The start of memories.
- I love the way the weather slowly starts to crisp.
- I love the festivals and the decorations leading up to the holidays.
- I love that everything comes in pumpkin (from coffee to sweaters).
But mostly I love that this month is set aside for Childhood Cancer Awareness. It is an opportunity for me to use my voice and give back to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Our Katie was diagnosed with RB (retinoblastoma) in April of 2009.
In case you missed our story you can read about it here, here, here and here.

My family and I are very grateful to everyone who has ever said a prayer or colored a pepper at Chilis. It made the difference between life and death for us and for so many others.
