stuck at home quarantine activities for kids

No. I never did think I’d be considering homeschool again. But here we are, and we are all in the same boat. If you are scratching your head wondering what to do with the kids over a 2 to 4-week Spring Break/ Quarantine, know that you are not alone.

As a former homeschool mom and leader of a large homeschool co-op, I have friends texting and messaging asking what in the world they are supposed to fill the days with. The good news is none of us are alone in this and innovative ideas are being shared and created at lightning speed.

I’ve rounded up a few of the resources being shared. Feel free to drop more in the comments below. We have beautiful weather here in Florida and I’m personally hoping to get my kids interested in starting a garden.

Wish me luck! Please. I need it 🙂

Here’s your list. I’ll keep adding to it as I find more.

  • The Best Indoor Games for Quarantined Kids and Family
  • Call one friend and one relative every day
  • Learn the art of letter writing, and catch up on your Christmas thank you cards
  • Get crafty
  • Teach the kids games you played as a kid in your backyard
  • Learn a new language. There are tons of online resources and apps like Rosetta Stone or Duolingo that you can do together. Since no one is coming over it’s a great time to get out the post-it notes and label everything in the house.
  • Game night! Teach the kids poker, spoons, and Risk.

Of course, there is always Netflix and Disney who are releasing movies and shows early. But when you get tired of family movie night and tired of watching Frozen 2 for the millionth time, here are 100 more useful things you can do to kill boredom.

Don’t forget to add your ideas to the comments below!
