Following Eve’s Footsteps

From the very beginning of humankind’s existence God looked on us, his creation, and declared us good. He was pleased with what he created, male and female (Genesis 1:27-28).

And from the very beginning we modeled the image of the creator we were fashioned after: creative, curious, authoritative, caregivers, intuitive, and ruling. God gave us a playground of beautiful creatures and bestowed on us the rights to govern them. He created us in his image, the creator of the universe, with all of his love for beauty and a desire to create.

What does an Army Wife and 10 Virgins have in common?

It’s funny how experience brings to life stories in the Bible that we’ve read but never quite grasped.

Mathew 25:1-13, The Parable of the 10 Virgins and their Lamps, has always been a source of struggle for me. I never quite understood why the bridegroom would refuse them entry. It’s not the overall meaning of being prepared for Christ’s return that I struggled with, it was the details of the parable itself. Really, what’s wrong with being fashionably late to a party?
