Grace can find you in the mundane. It captures you in the most difficult moments and stops you in awe. It sneaks up on you in snapshots of children playing, it guts you as you hold the hand of a loved one breathing their last, it never abandons you even when your faith is not strong enough to hold on.

Family Christian sent me a copy of The Beauty of Grace: Stories of God's Love from Today's Most... compiled by Dawn Camp in exchange for an honest review.

Dawn Camp has collected snapshots of grace from over 30 authors. In the midst of death and life, in the moments in-between when faith is tested, when Tuesdays prove to difficult, and when they pause to catch their breath, these authors share moments of grace from their own lives.

In moments of pain, loneliness, or insurmountable odds it is sometimes difficult to see purpose. It takes great faith to surrender to providence. We learn to hope and find encouragement from our own experiences of grace as well as the stories of others. These snapshots will occasionally leave you in tears and possibly bring you to your knees in worship. They are reminders of God’s greatness.

There have been moments in my own life where grace was the only thing that held me. My faith failed me when healing did not come in the way I believed it should to my baby. God wrapped His arms around me and held on though I desperately wanted Him to just let me go. His grace saved me. Kayla Aimee shares a similar story in this collection entitled “it happened on a tuesday.” With so many authors and snapshots, there is a story for each of us. This one was mine. As I was sitting, waiting for my kids to finish their gymnastics class, tears streamed down my face. I was surrounded by healthy children laughing, playing but my heart wandered to not that long ago and not that far away.
