How to hear clearly in a noisy world {Link Up}

This world is a noisy place.

Every minute there are over 277,000 tweets, 216,000 pics uploaded to Instagram, 72 hours of new video uploaded to YouTube, over 204,000,000 emails sent, 48,000 apps are downloaded. Can you keep up?

When you search for guidance do you go to Google and join in with over 4,000,000 other searchers?

In an interview yesterday, it was stated that the biggest problem with the American Church is Commercialism. It got me thinking. We (Pastors and Leaders of the Church) want to be heard in this noisy world so we add our own message to the swirling pot of media. I do not think there is anything wrong with that, to convey a message we have to get noticed. What is wrong is when we doctor God’s message to “tickle the ears” dumbing down the Gospel so that people aren’t offended and are willing to listen. It is one thing to simplify so that all understand, but it is entirely different when our purpose becomes getting noticed rather than sharing truth.

This morning as you search for wisdom and guidance seek out God’s Word. With all the noise in the world He set out a very clear message. The God of this Universe gave us ONE book and ONE Holy Spirit to help us see clearly in the chaos of this world of information. Will you take the time to sit and read it?
