My name is Mindy and I am stationed at NAS Key West. This is a very expensive place to live so having the extra funds to go other places can be difficult. Every once in a while my family and I decide to do a staycation. My husband will take leave and we will plan various excursions throughout the island.Every once in a while my family and I decide to do a staycation. @MissileChick Click To Tweet
Some of my favorites have to be a great visit to the Dolphin Research Center (DRC) located in Marathon. The DRC is home to dolphins, sea lions and otters that cannot survive in the wild. You get a chance to swim with them and learn how to support wildlife rescue.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my staycations. There is so much to do in the Florida Keys. I was born and raised here. I am the daughter of a Coast Guardsman and now the proud wife of a Navy Seabee and mother to 2 beautiful daughters.
